HERE ARE SOME PRACTICAL WAYS TO ASSIST YOU IN
PROVIDING SUPPORT TO YOUR PARISH FAMILY:

Weekly Envelopes: Using envelopes provides an easy way to contribute
to both general and special collections throughout the year. At the end of
the year a statement of contributions is provided for your convenience in
reporting charitable contributions for tax purposes. Telephone the Parish
Office [254-2426, x301] to enroll. Envelopes are mailed to your home.
Visa/Mastercard: Do you earn miles or points by using your credit card?
Do you like the simplicity and ease of credit card use? Would you like to
make your church donation automatcally each week, month, quarterly or
yearly? Pick up a SANTA MARIA CREDIT CONTRIBUTION SLIP in the
narthex office in the church or at the parish office. Fill in your name,
phone number, and credit card information, indicating how frequently
you would like your designated amount charged to your card (weekly,
monthly, quarterly, or annually). Place the slip into you envelope and your
envelope into the collection basket or you can drop it off or mail it to the
parish office.  A credit card terminal is available in the parish office. For

Electronic Funds Transfer: EFT is an alternative to weekly envelopes.
Authorized contributions to Santa Maria Church are automatically
deducted from your checking or saving accounts.  Contributions are
automatically and directly deposited into the parish account on or about
the 15th of each month. EFT enables your contribution to continue even
when you are on vacation or away from home. It provides income
revenues for budgetary stability.  A year-end statement of contributions

Donating Securities: Stocks, bonds and mutual-fund-shares that have
appreciated can be given to the parish as a donation and deducted from
your taxes as a charitable contribution for the full market value at the iime
the donaton is made. Capital Gains Tax is not payable on the
appreciated value.  Consultation with your tax advisor for specific details
and ramifications to your tax situation is encouraged. Please contact the
Parish Office in writing of your intention to donate securities to ensure
adequate accounting and proper acknowledgement of the gift.
Bequests: Please remember your parish - its need, its ministries - in the
preparation of a Living Trust or  Last Will & Testament.  Your donation
can be generic or it can be restricted for specific application. Please
contact the parish for information. Actual arrangements are made
between your financial advisor and the controller of the Diocese of
Oakland.
